Based in Vancouver, BC, Little Painter Supply Co is female owned and began with a quiet idea, a steady hand and the desire for painting to feel easy and natural. What started as a personal fondness for watercolour—its softness, its surprises—has grown into a curated shop of tools and materials made for those who appreciate craftsmanship, quality and style.
At the centre of it all is Little Painter's Handmade Watercolours, prepared by the Little Painter herself, using traditional, historic recipes and formulas with modern pigments sourced from Canadian supplier, Kama Pigments. Pigment and binder are painstakingly mulled by hand, just as they’ve been done for generations. The result is a paint that is easy to rewet and colour that is rich, luminous, and dependable when it meets the page.
Of course, a painter needs more than paint. So we’ve gathered a thoughtfully considered selection of supplies from manufacturers who know their trade. If it’s here, it’s because it’s been tested by Little Painter’s owner and proprietor and it’s earned its place.
